The Spring Equinox 2004
Spring is Coming
can't you feel it. the seeds are stirring, the buds brimming with
energy--
some quiet and still sleeping, others quaking and ready to burst.
the air
is starting to radiate with this new energy, the new growth of 2004.
the
sun is coming near, warming the earth, warming the dirt, the soil,
the
roots. water and earth are softening-- from cold hard winter ground
to soft
cold dark, rich, muddy oozing, squishy substance. the light grows
stronger,
you can feel it on your face mid-day, warmer now, brighter now.
thoughts of
fresh flowers, green grasses, lemondade, and windy beaches start
coming
through.
Demeter is happy. you can hear her-- whistling on the wind. her
daughter
is returning for her annual 6 month stay! Demeter is preparing for
her
daughter, for persephone. she stirrs, the earth stirs, awaiting
the return
of this goddess of the spring time. we celebrate, we dance, we SING!
Sing
for the goddess of SPRING!
missing you, the powerful priestesses of earth honoring song and
magic in
New York.
missing you, oh beautiful larks, singing of love, of beauty, of
truth.
missing you, the singing songstresses of the spring
Sing Back The Spring so that I may hear you in my Paris Dream Time.
thoughts of you - your work - our work - inspire me each and every
day.
here, serving the gods and goddesses of the earth.
in order to sustain ourselves and all beings on this earth, mindful
and
fully concsious of that which we do. our actions, even the smallest
ones
are felt in vibrations. of this I am becoming more aware.

Religious heritage and spiritual practices around the world vary
greatly.
So what is it that unites us?
The EARTH, our universal home, sustains, supports, and provides
nourishment for us all.
The AIR under and around our starry skies, is our breath.
The SUN'S FIRE heats the Earth. It's energy enables our growth.
The WATER within us ebbs and flows in accordances with the monthly
moon cycles.
The SPIRIT of living, the passage into death, the mystery of what
lies ahead-
these are the things that unite us in a common sacred space.
We join in song to celebrate! COME ALONG!!!
Fall Equinox
September 22, 2000
We are leaving the light heading into the dark.
Notice the sun set earlier.
Notice the sun rise later.
Welcome the cold dark.
Fare thee well to the hot light.
Now is a fight between the day and the night, the heat and the cold.
Notice the fight.
And know who will win.
The dark winter is coming on.
It is a time to gather. Gather the harvest and eat all the fresh
fruits and vegetables coming into season now. Eat them as raw as
possible to gather solar power to store in your body for the upcoming
winter.
Gather rose petals, elder berries, dry thistle flowers, leaves and
seets. Gather Pussywillow bark, Chicory flowers and holly leaves.
Gather sassafras root and make toothpicks from small branches.
Gather seeds. Seeds from anything you want to plant next year. Put
them in envelopes and write their names on them.
Gather poke berries and squeeze them in cotton or linen squares
into a jar. Add a little vinegar to make magic ink to use to write
your magic words.
Gather books, paint supplies, nature object to make gifts to give
at Yule - the darkest night of the year. Gifts made amidst blizzards
with Mother Earth's bounty from summer. Warm gifts made with love.
Gather love.
Give love and receive love as you and yours join with a Circle of
Soul to fare thee well to the light and welcome in the dark halves
of the year.
Green Blessings.

Everything
the Power of the World does
is done in a circle.
The sky
is round, and I have
heard that the earth is round
like a ball and so are all the stars.
The wind, in its greatest power,
whirls. Birds make their nests in
circle, for theirs is the same
religion as outs. The sun
comes forth and goes
down again in a
circle. The
moon does
the same, and
both are round. Even
the seasons form a great
circle in their changing and al-
ways come back where they were.
The life of a man is a circle from
childhood to childhood, and
so it is in everything
where power
moves.
