WBAI International Working Women's Day Broadcast

Tune in to WBAI Friday, March 7 at 7:00 PM and Sat., March 8 for 29 hours of programming dedicated to, produced for and hosted by women. Celebrating International Working Women's Day (IWWD), topics range from economic issues affecting women, to women's work for social justice and equality, to frank discussions about gender, sexuality and women's reproductive rights. Join us as we celebrate the Summer Solstice - "Circle of Soul style" - with music, movement and merriment! Please feel free to bring an instrument!

This event is part of The Make Music New York Festival: one day a year - the first day of summer - public spaces in all five boroughs become informal musical stages for all New Yorkers, amateurs and professionals, to perform for friends, neighbors, and passers-by, turning the city into a festival of live music making.

Feel free to join us at 1pm for some gentle yoga to warm us up and get us cooking!

Join Circle of Soul on the Winter Solstice as we come together in community to turn the wheel of the year. Together through gentle yoga/dance, ritual, storytelling and song we will honor the sun and the light within luring it to grow brighter and brighter.

Traditionally, in many parts of the world, the autumn equinox is a harvest celebration, a moment for people to come together to offer blessings and gratitude for the abundance they have received during the warm months as they anticipate the transition to winter. It is an ideal time to reflect and go inward and to remember that the seeds of fall will become the new growth of spring. This evening, we will engage in ceremony, meditation, music and visualization; celebrate and appreciate our own personal harvests; acknowledge our evolving journeys; and use the gathering’s collective energy to bring in new resources that can support our happiness and success for the new season. We will end with a ritual of peace for the planet.

Celebrate summer with gardeners from throughout the city! Live music,
herb and perennial plant giveaway, activities for kids, food and refreshments.

Join us as we meet in circle on Midsumer Nights Eve, a very powerful night, and a classical time for works of creative magic. We will sing, tell stories and celebrate the coming of summertime!

We are honored to be a part of this ceremony as three of our Circle of Soul sisters become ordained Interfaith Ministers.

Join us in circle as we celebrate the Vernal Equinox and welcome in the spring. People worldwide have long observed the end of winter and celebrated the re-awakening of Mother Earth. Tonight we will greet this rebirth through storytelling, music and movement, coming together in community to plant seeds of intention, renew our energy and share our stories (and also celebrating the release of Circle of Soul's newest CD, Songs for Birth, Rebirth and Renewal). Please feel free to bring an instrument and to wear comfortable clothes in spring colors (pastels, yellow, green, pink, violet, white).
